Pest Control in East Sussex and Brighton
Rodents
Rats and mice carry diseases such as salmonella and leptosirosis (Weil's disease). They can contaminate any surface they come into contact with, they can damage wooden, plastic and fabric materials, they will gnaw at cabling to sharpen their teeth. These are just a few reasons why they need to be controlled.
Rats (the need to control)
They present a significant risk to your health.
In the garden
They will damage cabling to lights, lawn mowers ext. They will feed on fledglings, snails, frogs, from bird tables and compost heaps. They will nest under sheds compost heaps and they will also make burrows in flower beds or under patios.
In the house
They will nest in cavity walls, under floorboards, in the loft area, They will feed on plaster, debris left under floorboards, they can gain access to kitchen cupboards and contaminate more foodstuff than they can eat. If left the house will start to smell.
The source of rats
Rats live in ditches, fields, sewers and open spaces. They require three ingredients to breed: water, food and harbourage, humans provides all three so rats will also come in contact with people.
